KS3 and KS4 Science Tutoring

At Tintagel Tutoring, all three Sciences are taught to boost current working-at-grades or in preparation for GCSE examinations. As an experienced Secondary Science teacher, we have the knowledge and experience of the National Curriculum and up-to-date expertise in GCSE examinations. We aim to get all our pupils to not only reach any target levels set or predicted by their school, but to exceed those target levels and reach their full potential.

Science at Tintagel Tutoring

We provide comprehensive coverage of all the Science subjects studied at KS3 and tested in the GCSE examinations. This includes Biology, Chemistry and Physics. We take the time to ensure your child is confident in all areas of science while also identifying both strengths and weaknesses. We are then able to tailor the practice your child completes to cater for their individual needs and focus on any particular area of the Science curriculum they are struggling with. Our priority is to help your child learn, understand and apply their knowledge. For GCSE students, when children have acquired the necessary knowledge, they also need to be able to perform well in examination conditions. Through the completion of routine tests, we aim to build up your child’s confidence in this area. KS3 and KS4 (GCSE) Mock Exams at Tintagel Tutoring

Tintagel tutoring offer mock exams in the months leading up to the KS3 end of your exams and the KS4 GCSE Examinations. These mock exams aim to create conditions as close as possible to that of the real exams. The exams will take place under exam conditions and we offer mock exams in Combined Science, Biology, Chemistry and Physics. It is not essential to sit the mock exams, but we would advise your child sit at least one to obtain experience of a formal test situation before sitting the actual exam itself.  

Mock examinations provide an excellent way to practice working in exam conditions and will help your child to overcome exam day nerves. They also assist the tutoring process by providing an accurate picture of your child’s progress in each specific area of the exam while highlighting any strengths and weaknesses. Mock exams are an excellent way of helping children with timing issues on each paper and boosting their self-confidence. 

Following completion of mock exams at Tintagel Tutoring, we will provide parental feedback which is detailed and specific. Your child’s marked exam papers will be available for collection one week after the exam and we will discuss your child’s results on an individual basis. Having the paper returned to your is the best feedback you can have.
